Our Charges

Our Charges

We believe charges should be clear, fair and explained in advance. This page is designed to help you understand what you may pay, when charges may apply and what you receive in return.

We will always confirm charges with you in writing before chargeable work begins. Your personalised Scope of Work or Fee Confirmation will set out the service being provided and the charges that apply. Where there is any difference, your personalised Scope of Work or Fee Confirmation takes precedence.

How we are paid

We are normally paid by fees agreed with you in advance. Depending on the service provided, charges may include:

  • ongoing service fees
  • initial advice or implementation fees, where advice leads to action
  • fixed fees for one-off or simplified advice
  • fees for non-regulated services, such as certain administrative or technical work

We will always confirm in writing what type of service we are providing and which fee basis applies before we proceed.

Ongoing service fees

Our ongoing service is offered through service tiers, which set the level of planned review activity and support you receive. An ongoing fee will typically apply where investments or pensions are held under our management and advice. Your selected tier, together with any minimum annual fee and the scope of support, will be confirmed in your Scope of Work or Fee Confirmation. Ongoing fees are reviewed regularly to help ensure they remain fair and proportionate.

Service levels

Foundation

Foundation is designed for clients who need straightforward, lower-friction support. An ongoing fee will typically apply where investments or pensions are held under our management and advice. No scheduled adviser meetings are included, and any advice or meetings outside the periodic review are charged separately and agreed in advance.

Premier

Premier is designed for clients who need structured ongoing oversight and periodic review support. The minimum ongoing fee is £1,000 per year. For drawdown clients, the minimum ongoing fee is £1,000 per year or 1% of assets, whichever is higher.

Bespoke

Bespoke is designed for clients with more complex financial planning needs. The minimum ongoing fee is £5,000 per year, with the final fee tailored to complexity, assets and the scope of planning required.

Holistic regulated advice

Where advice leads to action and a personal recommendation is provided, an initial advice and/or implementation fee may apply. Holistic regulated advice is provided where we take account of your full personal circumstances, objectives and needs, and make a recommendation that is suitable for you.
Where our advice results in a new investment, a fund switch or another material change to your arrangements, the standard implementation fee is:

2% of the amount invested or switched (unless otherwise agreed in writing)

This fee reflects the regulated advice process, suitability assessment, required documentation and disclosures, preparation of a compliant recommendation report, and the compliance and governance framework that supports our advice.

Simplified advice

Simplified advice is a limited-scope form of regulated advice designed for straightforward needs where a full holistic review is not required.

Fee: £400 per case

Simplified advice is only available where the investment or pension transaction value in scope does not exceed £50,000. Where the value in scope is above that level, simplified advice cannot be used and a broader suitability assessment will be required.

Ad hoc and non-regulated services

Some services are not regulated financial advice and are charged separately. Examples may include:

  • cashflow modelling sessions where no personal recommendation is made
  • technical or bespoke report work
  • executor or estate support
  • non-scheduled meetings not resulting in advice

Fees for these services are quoted in advance, agreed before work begins, and subject to VAT where applicable.

Additional professional and third-party support

In some circumstances, we may be asked to undertake additional professional or administrative work outside your agreed service tier, Scope of Work or ongoing advice service. Where this happens, the work will usually be charged either on a time-cost basis at an agreed hourly rate or at a fixed fee where the scope can be defined in advance.
Any applicable fee will be quoted and agreed before work begins wherever practicable.

VAT

Regulated financial advice is generally VAT-exempt. Administrative, technical or other non-regulated services, including estate-related or third-party support, is usually charged at the prevailing standard rate of VAT. The VAT position will be confirmed at the point of quotation.

Protection advice and commission

Where we provide advice on protection products, such as life cover or income protection, we may receive commission from the provider. If commission is received, it will be disclosed to you and may be offset against fees where appropriate.

Platform, product and investment charges

In addition to our fees, you may also pay charges set by third parties, such as:

  • platform charges
  • fund or investment manager charges
  • product-specific costs

These charges are disclosed separately before you proceed. We consider total costs, not just our own fees, when assessing value for money.

Fair value and Consumer Duty

We operate under the FCA’s Consumer Duty, which requires us to ensure that charges represent fair value. This means charges should be proportionate to the services delivered, costs should be foreseeable and transparent, and services should be reviewed where costs may become disproportionate, for example on smaller portfolios. Where total costs appear excessive relative to benefit, we will discuss alternative options with you.

When charges are payable

No chargeable work will normally begin until authority and agreement on fees has been obtained. Charges may be invoiced to you as the client, or to an estate or authorised third party where appropriate legal authority has been supplied.

Important information

This page explains how our charges work. It does not replace regulatory disclosures, contractual terms or personalised advice documentation.

If you are unsure about any charge, please ask before proceeding.
